Toronto hip hop group KWHY launch their anticipated debut album WHYKWHY EP Part 1

TORONTO, CANADA - March 4th, 2011 - Toronto hip hop artists UEC and Karla Maxim have joined forces last month in forming a group called KWHY (like the jelly). Combining UEC's intricately woven rhyme patterns with Karla's crisp, sharp delivery, the duo have recorded their first eight-song project in only two weeks and have begun to release the music for free download on their website (www.whykwhy.com).

You may remember the pair as the lead vocalists to a Toronto band called Soul Plane. After winning over the judges during the 3rd episode of MuchMusic's 'Disband' TV show and having a song produced by the former manager of Sum 41, the band went on to record two more albums together, gaining some in the city. Unfortunately, the band's overly diverse tastes in music led to its demise. The group broke up in the early fall of 2010.

Undeterred, UEC built a studio with his partner/producer/manager Vladimir Baranov and quickly began writing music of his own, eventually teaming up with Karla to become KWHY. The group is now set to release many tracks over the next few weeks. Be sure to check out the lead single "Take It To The Limit" and keep a look-out for these new Canadian artists!
